Abstract

A 2% solution of myconazol nitrate in equal parts of propylene glycol and polyethylene glycol was tested for antimycotic activity. Candida albicane, C. tropicalis, Tricophyton rubrum, T. violaceum and Microsporum cani8 were grown, at room temperature, for 5 days, on Saboureaud agar slants. Then, 1 ml of the lotion was spread on the surface and left at room temperature for 24 hours. After thís interval, the species were inoculated on new Saboreaud agar slants for 20 days, also at room temperature. No growth was then observed, except for T. violacéum. The latter needed 2 ml for showing no growth.
