Abstract
Two Pasteurellas were isolated from pleural pus from two pacients admitted to the Isolation Hospital "Emilio Ribas". These isolated organisms (322 and 1.033) were identified by their cultural characteristics and agglutination specific anti-serum tests. CocobacilIe, Gram-negative, showed bipolar staining and are nonmotile. Growth in plain agar and both with uniform turbidity. No visible growth in potato, in biIe and yeast water. Indol and hydrogen sulfid were produced. Litmus milk no change. Gelatin no liquefaction. Acid but not gas from dextrose, sucrose, sorbitol, manitol, xylose, mannose, galactose and levulose. No acid from lactose, maltose, salicin, trealose, starch, dextrin, L-arabinose, inulin, dulciitol, inositol and raffinose. The sera immunized with strains 322 and 1.033 were agglutinated by strain avicida 128 Maninger and strain boviseptica 0,1448 from the Lister Institute. The sera immunized with the strain 0,1448 from Lister Institute were agglutined by the strains 322, 1.033References
