Resumen
No período de março de 1985 a março de 1988, soros de 125 crianças com quadro clínico de infecção pulmonar foram submetidas a exame sorológico para pesquisa de anticorpos para Chlamydia trachomatis pela reação de imunofluorescência indireta; 18 soros (14,4%) foram positivos com título de anticorpos IgM> 1:32. Se considerarmos apenas aquelas crianças com pneumonia intersticial, i.e. 80 crianças, 17 (21,3%) foram positivas. Somente uma (2,5%) das 45 crianças sem quadro de pneumonia apresentou título de anticorpos IgM> 1:32. Analisou-se a sensibilidade e especificidade da reação de imunofluorescência indireta para pesquisa de anticorpos anticlamídia em casos de pneumonia.
