Resumen
Estudou-se a ação inibidora do corante foto-sensibilizante laranja de acridina (LA) sobre os vírus herpético e vacíníco. A ação conjunta do corante e luz resultou em 100% de inibição do crescimento dos vírus, quando o LA esteve em contacto durante 1 hora com os vírus. Não se observou qualquer partícula víral nas micrografias eletrônicas, enquanto que nas células inoculadas com vírus expostos à luz, mas sem LA, observaram-se numerosas partículas de vírus. A microscopia fluorescente demonstrou diminuição de ADN em células inoculadas com mistura de LA e vírus (VLA) em comparação com os controles de células normais.
