Abstract

A biochemical classification was carried out on 113 samples of Providencia isolated in São Paulo, Brazil. It was found that 112 of them belonged to the bio-group I and only one to the bio-group II, what shows that group I is strongly predominant in São Paulo, according to the results of this research.
