Abstract
Samples of several foods and animal feeds exposed for consump tjon in São Paulo State and in various areas of Brazil were examined by thi n-Iayer chromatography in order to determine aflatoxin B1 The variations in levels of aflatoxin B1 during the period from 1971 to 1979, were presented in some tables and figures. Concerning this aflatoxin, the limits detected were f rorn 50 to 7,800 ug/kg (ppb), thus over the va lues tolerated by Brazilian legislation.
