Abstract

The author described the technic of the preparation of the Hottinger's broth and agar, stablishing the method for their standardization. By the cultivation of numerous species of bacteria he verified the media has high nutrient value. The fluid medium is excellent for the indol test. After 22 successive transfers on the solid medium, in presence of specific immune serum, the agglutination of the E. typhosa has not undergone alteration. The media may, with advantage, replace the plain broth and agar.
