In a thirty-year long period 308 and 916 hanseniasis patients were observed by the author in his private office (middle, upper middle and high class) and in a public out-patient clinic of Cordoba, Argentina, respectively. No significant differences were found comparing the percentages of Virchowian, tuberculoid and dimorphous cases, in either class, a fact which shows an evident failure of early diagnosis. In contrast, indetermined hanseniasis was diagnosed in 19.48% of private patients against only 9.06% of the public clinic patients, which
may be due to the higher economical and educational level of the former group.
