Abstract

The author describes the situation of endemic Hansen's disease in Parnaiba City (in the State of Piaui) in 1980. The epidemiologic rates showed an incidence of 31,67º/00. and a prevalence of 2,67º/00. The author requires
the attention of the Public Health Services for the important problem.
