Abstract
Visceral larva migrans probably due to Toxocaro. canis larvae was diagnosed in a white, 40-year old peasant woman from Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Enlargment of the liver, spleen, and lymph nodes, ascitis, skin lesions, and high levels of blood eosinophils were the main clinical and laboratory findings.
Ristologic examination of the surgically-removed spleen showed large foci of necrosis and the presence of parasitic structures which were classified as nematode larva e resembling Toxocara larvae. Granulomatous lesions surrounded by giant cells and high numbers of eosinophils were the main findings in a liver biopsy.
