Abstract

The presence af aflatoxin B, was investigated by thin-Iayer chromatography in 100 samples of beans of several varieties sold in various cities from the state of São Paulo. Aflatoxin B, was detected in 10% of the samples, the content varying between 30 and 500 p.g/kg (ppb ), These values are higher than those permitted by the pertinent Brazilian laws.
